Alonzo Gee Named MVP of 2005 Senior Showcase
All-Star Weekend
Dwyer super-guard Alonzo Gee was named Most Valuable Player during the
East/West All-Star Game at the 2005 Senior Showcase All-Star Weekend.
Gee impressed the huge crowd with a variety of shots, drives, and dunks.
Alonzo Gee scored 28 points and led the East All-Stars to a 105-102
victory. With his 28 points, Gee has become the 4th highest scorer in
Senior Showcase history just ahead of University of Miami guard
Guillermo Diaz. Gee is ranked in the top 3 players in the state and
among the most highly recruited players in the nation. Gee is a finalist
for the Florida Mr. Basketball Award and will attend the University of
Alabama. |

Derwin Kitchen Earns Co-MVP Honors at 2005 Senior
Showcase All-Star Weekend
Raines shooting guard and Florida Mr. Basketball finalist, Derwin
Kitchen was named Co-MVP of the East/West All-Star Game at the 2005
Senior Showcase All-Star Weekend. The nationally ranked Kitchen battled
Dwyer guard Alonzo Gee for MVP honors which is awarded to a player from
the winner of the East/West All-Star Game. Kitchen scored 23 points with
his smooth game and superb basketball skills. Derwin Kitchen is on his
way to join the Red Storm of St. John's University. |

Kyle Marks Wins 2005 Ale House Slam Dunk Content
Kyle Marks wowed the huge crowd for the Ale House Slam Dunk Contest at
the 2005 Senior Showcase All-Star Weekend. Marks battled Juwann James,
Jason Gandy, Mario Alsinor, and Quentin Thornton in the final round and
displayed multiple dunks defying laws of gravity. Marks final dunk
included jumping over the slam dunk trophy and Jay-Love from 102 JAMZ to
earn him the prestigous title. Kyle Marks will attend the University of
Nebraska. |

Alex Ruoff Wins 2005 Adidias 3-Point Shootout
Brooksville High School standout Alex Ruoff's sharp shooting and
consistency earned him the Adidas 3-Point Shootout Championship. Ruoff
and Jones High School guard Darrius Walker battled in the exciting 14-12
final-round shootout. Alex Ruoff will attend the University of West
Virginia. |
